During Experiential Education Week a group of sophomore students experienced what it would be like to attend college out east while touring Boston area colleges and universities. During this five day educational tour students had the opportunity to tour and attend information sessions at eight different schools: Babson College, Brandeis University, Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and Northeastern University. Students gained different perspectives from visiting a variety of schools: big and small, suburban and city campuses, business, tech, liberal arts and research universities- a big take away as they prepare to head into their junior year and begin the college process.
Other highlights were exploring the fun sites at Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Harvard Square as well as a solemn visit to the Boston Holocaust Memorial. The 10th graders got a real taste of experiencing college on another coast, exploring the possibilities away from SDJA and most importantly, engaging with each other outside the confines of the classroom.
