Thank you to everyone who joined us for Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday! It’s always a special time for our families and students, who love showing their grandparents and special friends all that they do and learn about at school. And we know how meaningful it is for grandparents and special friends to see their students in action!
The GMLS students, along with grandparents and special friends, participated in a variety of activities, including reading a Jewish book about family, interviewing each other about our families, playing games and making art projects. Students and special guests also worked together to make (and eat!) falafel, Israeli salad and shakshuka, as well as homemade pita on the taboon. To wrap up the morning, we enjoyed Kabbalat Shabbat together. It was a really fun, interactive and hands-on morning in which many loving memories were shared and made.
Again, thank you to all the families who came out. Grandparents and special friends are a deeply important part of our community. We value their time and interest immensely. I hope it was as meaningful to you as it was to us.

Rick Riordan, a favorite author of many of the fifth graders once said, “Names have power.” We couldn’t agree more! That is why, after weeks and weeks of debating and gathering the communities input, we have finally named our chickens! Our four chickens are named Bobbet, Noodle, Wings, and Toots. Our chickens are all Rhode […]
