As part of our entrepreneurial studies, fifth graders are participating in the Junior Achievement BizTown curriculum. The program encourages our students to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. Fifth graders learn about work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy as they prepare for our field trip to BizTown.
One aspect of the program requires students to apply for and interview for jobs in the BizTown community. Last week, our fifth graders interviewed for positions as CEO, CFO, judge, police officer, dentist, television anchor, and much more! Our parent volunteers came in to conduct the interviews and our fifth graders truly shined! Students discussed their skills, achievements, and why they were the best fit for the job. Students even wrote resumes and follow-up letters to distinguish themselves from other candidates.
