Introducing SDJA’s first ever Podcast, the Mindful Moment! This awesome communication tool will help our students teach their parents and our school community about the social emotional tools they are learning in class. Featuring Kindergarten students on our private podcast channel (only available to those with the following link), our first episode highlights our emotional “weather reports,” with our youngest GMLS students helping us to identify and express our feelings. Check out us!
We are continuing to build our SDJA parent community with programs that create opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. We hope to see you at some of the following events this month:
Friday, November 15, 8:05-9:05, K-2 Coffee Talk with the Counselor on the topic of “Teaching Kids Self-Regulation.”
Monday, December 16, 8:20-9:20 am, Mindful and Conscious Parenting Series for K-12 parents, Moadon.
Clarice Barrelet (parent of three students in K, 2nd, and 5th) is organizing a group for SDJA families who identify as non-traditional, including single, divorced, widowed, and gay parents, grandparents raising children, and otherwise non-traditionally nuclear families. If you are interested in meetings or communications, please let Sarah Greenstein know at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Clarice at 858-254-6202 or email@example.com .
