GMLS Honors Our Service Men & Women
On Friday, the Lower School students participated in a very meaningful Veteran’s Day assembly. It was made extra-special by the presence of fifteen service men and women from all branches of the military. Our Student Council members were the first to greet our special guests. To start off the assembly, the students rose and applauded as the service men and women entered the Ulam. Student performances and readings were enjoyed by all. Perhaps the best part was when our guests came to the stage to tell us about what they do in the service. It was amazing to see all the different uniforms on display and the students and adults were filled with admiration and appreciation for the service of our guests. Chuck Spielman, grandfather to two GMLS students and a veteran himself, joined the men and women on stage to help answer questions. We owe Mr. Spielman a special debt of gratitude because he was the one who brought these incredible service men and women to SDJA.
Thank you to Mr. Spielman and the veterans and active duty service people who came to SDJA. You have given our students such a beautiful experience and instilled such pride in our country.
