Senior Class Tikkun Olam Project in Israel

The Senior Trip to Poland and Israel is the culminating educational experience of an SDJA student. While most of the emphasis of the trip in grounded in the experiential learning aspect of the senior seminar course – The History of Modern Israel and the Holocaust, our seniors also engage in very meaningful activities like building connections with students at our sister high school in Shar’ar HaNegev and, a pillar of our school, Tikkun Olam.

The class of 2018, recently spent a day at Colel Chabad Pantry Packers organization preparing and packing food. Pantry Packers is the food distribution arm of Tzedakah Central / Colel Chabad, the oldest continuously operating network of social services in Israel – established in 1788. Every month Pantry Packers delivers crates containing all the necessary foods and household maintenance supplies to Israel’s poorest families and senior citizens.
