Post Season Highlights
A special congratulations to our track and field team members who qualified for post season competition.
Sophomore Brannigan Stone qualified for Coastal Conference Finals in the 1600 m, 800 m & 3200– where he went on reach his season and personal best goal of breaking 5 minutes in the 1600 m, finishing in 4:59.09. Brannigan raced past the competition in the 800 m, finishing 3rd Place in the Pacific League and 7th Place overall in the entire Conference with a time of 2:15.05. He also posted an impressive new personal best time of 11:22.02 in the 3200 m.
Junior Ella Diamond placed 2nd Overall in the Pacific League and 3rd overall in the entire Coastal Conference in the Shot Put, with a throw of 28’8”. She finished 9th overall in the Long Jump (14’5.75”) and 9th overall in the Discus (69’10”). She also finished 7th overall in the Triple Jump (31’7.75”) and has qualified for the CIF Division 2 Prelims in this event.
Sophomore Kayla Swartzberg ran a Personal & Season Best of 28.42 in the 200m, finishing 12th Overall at the Coastal Conference Finals.
Junior Ilan Leisorek (56.24) and Freshman Gil Zucker-Abudi (58.05) both qualified for Coastal Conference Finals in the 400 m. Gil was also an alternate for the 100 m (12.48) and competed at Coastal Conference Finals.
Junior Mia Hansen qualified for the Coastal Conference Finals in High Jump (4’6”).
Last week the 8th grade traveled to Colorado for a culminating middle school experiential education experience. During the week, the class challenged themselves on a high ropes course, a river rafting experience, and ziplining.
