Two Middle School Students Named as Finalists in the Cadena Initiative Competition
We are very excited to announce that Jimmy Cohen and Natalie Goldwasser were named as one of ten finalist teams in this year’s Cadena Initiative competition! Cadena Initiative is an international social entrepreneurship competition in which teams of middle school students from Jewish Day Schools develop projects that mitigate the effects of natural disasters or support the people affected by them. Jimmy and Natalie have worked hard to develop Flood Friend, a teddy bear who provides education, emotional support, and emergency aid to children who live in danger of floods.
The most exciting aspect of this competition is that Cadena works with the winning team to make their idea a reality. The organization will pair the students with a company that will manufacture the product and deliver it to the target audience. At the end of the May, Jimmy and Natalie will travel to Mexico City to present to the judges panel.
