Middle School Moot Beit Din Team Competes in First Ever Competition
After almost two years of planning and a year of study under the tutelage of Arielle Gereboff, the SDJA Middle School Moot Beit Din Team traveled to TVT Community Day School in Irvine to compete in the first ever event designed for middle school students.
With 200 students representing six schools, the atmosphere was electric. Throughout the morning sessions the SDJA team showed well in lively debate. Our students were articulate and well prepared for the rigors of the day.
The prompt for the inaugural event was a timely issue confronting schools and the greater society. Through the lens of Jewish law, the students debated the right to personal privacy vs the right of a school to intercede in issues surrounding social media postings.
