Lauren Dolinka started her teaching career in Israel, where she spent two years teaching English to Israeli middle school students. While in Israel, she also earned her MA in Education from Bar Ilan University. When she returned home to California, she joined the SDJA community as a DeLeT fellow, working as an intern teacher in 3rd and 4th grade. Since then, Lauren has been teaching math, English, and Judaic Studies in SDJA’s Upper School and has also been the Middle School Activities Coordinator. She is excited to return to GMLS to teach 4th and 5th grade to fill the vacancy created by Dianne Shapp’s move out of 5th grade and into a K-5 STEM teaching role. Teaching is Lauren’s true passion and her greatest source of joy.
A southern California native, Lauren spends as much of her time at the beach as possible. She loves a great book recommendation, and she enjoys yoga, cooking, and hiking with her husband, Mike (a member of SDJA’s first graduating class!), and their dog, Charlie.
