Math Festival Was a Hit by Shelly Moses

Numbers, computation, and puzzling minds galore! Once in a while, we need a reminder that math is mesmerizing, fascinating, and fun. That’s what this year’s math festival was all about. Students and faculty participated during the day by working on a host of challenging activities. Brows furrowed with concentration, fists were pumping, and cheers of, “We did it!” occurred repeatedly throughout the day. In the evening, parents modeled perseverance and problem solving as they worked on challenges together with their children. Still not convinced that this day was extraordinary? Just check out the photos. Of course, it would not have been a success without the help of our many parent volunteers. Many thanks to all of you.

If you are interested in continuing the fun at home, there are many options for you. Pick up the family math packet from the office. It is filled will additional fun challenges and games perfect for use at home.  You can sign up for emails from organizations like Bedtime Math or Table Talk Math. They come with interesting challenges and conversation starters.

Remember… everyone is a math person with a math brain!
