High School Students Visit “Studio West”

High School students enrolled in the “Music Technology and Composition” class took a field trip to San Diego’s largest recording studio called “Studio West”.  The studio has been used in productions like Iron Man, Transformers, The Cable Guy, and Dora the Explorer.  Artists who have recorded there include Gregg Allman, Pat Boone, blink-182, Boyz II Men, Cowboy Junkies, Duran Duran, Melissa Etheridge, Bruce Hornsby, Jewel, Patti LaBelle, Frankie Laine, Brian Setzer Orchestra, and many others.  Their corporate clients include American Airlines, HBO, Nintendo, and many others.  They even have had Deepak Chopra and Mitt Romney do non-musical recordings there.   The students got to see how a real professional recording studio works.
