Partners, By Chaim Heller, Head of School
On behalf of the staff at SDJA, I am happy to welcome you to the 2015-16 school year!
While we began the year together yesterday as Kehillah Achat, (one community,) the relationship between the school and home is actually one of partnership, and that’s helpful for all of us to keep in mind.
We are looking forward to a year of productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As your partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.
In addition to partnering with us through academically supporting your child and setting study and homework standards at home, we ask that you keep us informed about any changes in your child’s school or home experience. Also, come to school events, like next week’s all-school celebratory Shabbat program. You’ll enjoy it and you will demonstrate the importance of school involvement to your children.
The wonderful San Diego Jewish Academy staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to meeting and getting to better know you.
