Apps for Creating Change Hackathon
Date: Sunday, March 10 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (New Date)
Location: San Diego Jewish Academy–11860 Carmel Creek Rd., San Diego, CA 92130
Open to: Public and private school students
Grade Levels: Upper Elementary (4th grade and up), Middle School and Upper School
Sign up Deadline: (Extended) January 18th 2019
- Minimum of one team per school
- Maximum of three teams per school level (e.g. Elementary, Middle, and Upper School levels)
- Each school must have one designated school administrator or chaperone
About: Students will participate in a collaborative six-hour coding challenge themed around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal.
Teams will learn to develop and publish apps alongside Lightwell engineers and product designers. Each team will present their app before a panel of judges, with the winning team having the opportunity to work with Lightwell to publish their app in the App Store.
Judging Criteria: The panel of judges will be scoring based on overall creativity, design and polish, as well as practicality and usefulness.
