San Diego Jewish Academy
Center for Science and Technology

The goal of the Science Department at the San Diego Jewish Academy (SDJA) is to create lifelong learners of science who are inspired to question and understand the world in which we live in. Students are encouraged to recognize science itself as an activity - one that humans have a direct role in. Students are guided on an adventure through hands on laboratory activities, group interactions, on campus visitations by specialists in their fields and lectures as well. Students are exposed to many current topics each bringing with it the connection between science and society with the hopes that students will gain information, think critically about the various science disciplines and foster a love for the world and its inhabitants as well as the interactions between them.

SDJA won three Sweepstakes Awards at the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair in 2011.

SDJA competes in numerous middle school science competitions.

"The Science and Technology Research Program helped me realize what I would be facing in the real world and provided me with a foundation for medical school."
