Music
The music classes in the upper school include various instrumental ensembles and AP music theory. Middle school students who have never played an instrument are encouraged to take the beginner band class. There are also intermediate middle school and intermediate/advanced high school ensembles.
Students enrolled in the instrumental music program learn the basics of playing an instrument and how to apply those skills in an ensemble. Music theory, history, and appreciation are also important aspects of the curriculum.
Music Booster Club
The music booster club is a parent sponsored organization at San Diego Jewish Academy. The organization’s purpose is to support the Music Department, to facilitate communication and participation throughout the upper school, and to raise funds for the Music Department at San Diego Jewish Academy.
