Zikaron V’Tikvah – Remembrance and Hope: Butterfly Project

Created in 2006 to memorialize the Jewish children killed in the Holocaust, the Butterfly Project seeks to create 1.5 million ceramic butterflies worldwide in honor of their memory. The program is an educational, hands-on experience that has been adopted by individuals, schools, and museums worldwide.

Every year on Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), the Butterfly Project brings numerous Holocaust survivors to SDJA’s campus for a special ceremony and to speak with students.
