San Diego Jewish Academy honored campus founders Ann and Richard Jaffe at the Every Child Annual Dinner held at the Hilton La Jolla, Torrey Pines on Saturday, February 24, 2007. The memorable and lavish gala was magnificently co-chaired by Debbie and Edmond Elghanian, Yvette and William Lechtner, and Esther and Carlos Michan. Guests dined, danced and were dazzled by the Wayne Foster Orchestra.
“We were so pleased to be able to thank the Jaffes for all they have done for SDJA,” explained Executive Director, Larry Acheatel. “They truly personify the theme of the evening, ‘From Dream to Reality’. Thanks to their extraordinary vision, hard work and generosity, the dream of a magnificent campus is today a wonderful reality that benefits our students and serves our entire community.” The dinner also brought the total of funds raised for the Every Child Campaign to $700,000, helping to sustain educational excellence throughout SDJA, as well as support the all-important Tuition Assistance program.
The evening included silent and live auctions, co-chaired by devoted volunteers Jessica Koren, Nancy Krasnoff and Robyn Rapoport, and featured a wide array of tantalizing prizes, including a no-expense-spared vacation to Puerto Vallarta and a host of handcrafted items made especially for the event by SDJA students.
