Welcome, By Chaim Heller, Head of School
It is a pleasure to introduce our new Director of Admissions, Ms. Keri Copans, who will begin her position on Wednesday, September 16th.
Keri has been a highly regarded administrator for the past 15 years at Hillel of San Diego, including the last five years as Campus Director at UCSD, and most recently serving as Hillel’s Director of Development. She brings a track record of great success in engaging people and creating a vibrant pluralistic Jewish community on college campuses and in the larger community as well. Keri’s positive attitude and passion for Jewish life are well known in the larger community and we couldn’t be happier that she is joining our senior leadership team at SDJA.
Keri has been the recipient of leadership awards from Hillel International and our Jewish Community Foundation, as they recognized her strive for excellence in the Jewish professional world.
As some of you know, Keri is also an SDJA parent. Keri and Shaun have two children in school, Haley in 2nd grade and Leah in preschool. Knowing our school and community as a parent will undoubtedly help Keri in her role as admissions, retention and enrollment manager.
While we are looking forward to Keri Copans joining our team on Wednesday, Sept. 16th, I want to express our appreciation for the incredible work done by Marni Weiss who was appointed the admissions coordinator over the summer. Marni has been taking on the responsibilities of two people since August 1st, and has enrolled new students over the summer as well as providing them with the logistical and organizational support needed to begin the school year on time. Thank you Marni for all you have done to keep the school moving forward.
Please join me in thanking Marni Weiss for her hard work as well as welcoming Keri Copans to our school as our Admissions Director.
Dear SDJA Community,
I am excited and honored to have been selected as the new Director of Admissions for SDJA. I look forward to having the opportunity to showcase our dynamic school to new families and continue to build relationships with existing ones. SDJA is an exceptional academic institution with innovative educators, dedicated staff, and families who are committed to a stellar education rooted in Jewish values. I feel incredibly fortunate to continue my career building Jewish community at a place I love so dearly.
Most importantly, I am grateful to be your partner as we grow our school together.
