Applying to SDJA

San Diego Jewish Academy Admissions Process

Welcome to the 2017-2018 admissions season. We encourage you to begin the application process early to ensure there is sufficient time to visit the campus and complete all of the requirements. The admissions office is here to answer your questions and help guide you through the application process.

 

Early Childhood Center Application Process

Beit Yeladim (6 weeks – 30 months) and Preschool (2-5 years)

  1. Contact the Admissions Office at 858-704-3717 to schedule a parent tour.
  2. Submit an Online Application, including a $100 non-refundable application fee.
  3. Submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport.
  4. For students applying to the 4 year old programs: Request that your child’s current preschool fill out and send the Preschool Teacher and Director Recommendation Forms.
  5. An admissions officer will contact you regarding the status of your application.
  6. For students applying for the 3 & 4 year old programs, a play day will be scheduled.
  7. Upon being admitted, the Enrollment Agreement will be sent electronically.
  8. Submit the Enrollment Agreement and initial tuition deposit.
  9. Complete and submit all state licensing paperwork at least 1 week prior to the start date.

Lower School Application Process (Grades K-5)

  1. Contact the Admissions Office at 858-704-3717 to schedule a parent tour or attend an admissions event.
  2. Submit an Online Application, including a $100 non-refundable application fee.
  3. Send the appropriate recommendation forms to your child’s current school.
  4. Complete the Release of Records form and send to your child’s current school.
  5. Submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport.
  6. Schedule a shadow day or kindergarten screening for your child.
  7. Apply for Tuition Assistance, if applicable.

Upper School Application Process (Grades 6-12)

  1. Contact the Admissions Office at 858-704-3717 to schedule a parent tour or attend an admissions event.
  2. Submit an Online Application, including a $100 non-refundable application fee.
  3. Send the Recommendation Forms to your child’s current school.
  4. Complete the Release of Records form and send to your child’s current school.
  5. Have your child complete and submit the Student questionnaire.
  6. Submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport.
  7. Schedule a shadow day for your child.
  8. Apply for Tuition Assistance, if applicable.
